Glottic Reconstruction Using Island Cervical Skin Flap after Vertical Partial Larygectomy

Abstract
Conservative surgery of the laryngeal cancers is designated as to remove the primary malignant lesions with preservation of normal laryngeal function such as respiration, deglutition, phonation, and protection.
Various surgical procedures have been designed for glottic reconstruction following hemilaryngectomy of early glottic cancers.
Recently authors experienced three cases of glottic cancers treated by vertical partial laryngectomy and glottic reconstruction with single pedicled flap of sternohyoid muscle and island cervical skin flap. The surgical technique was simple and
had
lesser complication. Tumor control and good preservation of laryngeal function were achieved.
Our experiences for the surgical technique and postoperative care was reviewed.
